Kuoni scores 84 out of 100: full marks for pricing, reviews and financial protection, a published 24-hour number, and a low planning score because its site names none of the people who plan the holidays. Kuoni's record reads like a package holiday company's, because that is what it is: a duty office that answers at night, more than 7,000 verified reviews and a price on every offer. What it does not publish is the individual: no named specialist, no biography, no statement of who has been where.

Who owns Kuoni?

Kuoni has been owned since September 2015 by DERTOUR Group, part of Germany's REWE Group, and trades as a brand of DERTOUR UK Ltd, the company that was called Kuoni Travel Limited until 2017.

The Swiss Kuoni Group sold its tour operators and travel agencies in the UK, Switzerland, Scandinavia and Benelux to DER Touristik, the travel division of REWE Group, in a deal announced in June 2015, according to TravelDailyNews. The UK company kept the Kuoni name until 30 August 2017, became DER Touristik UK Ltd, and has been DERTOUR UK Ltd since 16 February 2026, according to Kuoni's company information page. Kuoni is now one of 11 specialist businesses under DERTOUR UK, alongside Jules Verne, Kirker Holidays and Hotelplan.

Who runs Kuoni in 2026

Kuoni is changing leaders this month: managing director Mark Duguid steps down on 25 September 2026, and Ben Boesch, joint chief executive of the parent DERTOUR UK, takes charge of Kuoni UK alongside that role.

Duguid joined Kuoni in 2009, ran its sister brand Carrier for five years and returned as managing director in 2022, according to Travel Gossip. At the parent company, Francis Torrilla, who joined Kuoni as head of product in 1998, retires at the end of September 2026, according to Travel Gossip; Boesch has shared the chief executive role with him since January. No permanent managing director for Kuoni UK had been named by 25 September 2026.

Kuoni does not name its planners online. Its site refers to "Destination Experts" on the phone and "Personal Travel Experts" in its stores, without biographies, so a buyer cannot check who has been where before calling.

How much does a Kuoni holiday cost?

Kuoni prices more than 100 offers per person, with the nights, month and board basis; examples on 25 September 2026 ran from £1,579 for seven nights all inclusive in Crete to £5,950 for seven nights in South Africa, and its 14-day Highlights of Japan tour costs £7,150 to £8,395 by season. Family offers are priced per family: The City and Safari Squad in South Africa is £10,425 for seven nights in May 2027, and a 14-night Walt Disney World package is £7,995 in August 2027. Highlights of Japan is the itinerary checked in full: 14 days, day by day, with named hotels from the Rihga Royal Hotel Tokyo to Noku Kyoto and Hotel Granvia Hiroshima.

Kuoni booking terms and financial protection

Kuoni holds ATOL 0132 and ABTA membership V258X, takes a deposit of £175 per person or 10% of the cost, whichever is greater, and wants the balance 61 days before departure.

Both numbers are printed in its booking conditions, which apply to package holidays sold under the Kuoni brand by DERTOUR UK Ltd.

Changes cost £50 per booking plus any supplier charges. The terms page carries no date, so the version read on 25 September 2026 is the one recorded here.

Support on the ground

Kuoni prints a 24-hour duty office number for emergencies while travelling, 01306 744435; of the ten companies recorded so far, only Kuoni and Scott Dunn publish one.

Its terms add local representation in destinations, without naming it. Sales lines are open seven days a week on 0800 092 4444: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 20:00, Saturday 09:00 to 18:00 and Sunday 11:00 to 16:00. Small-group tours such as Highlights of Japan are escorted, but the escorts are not named.

What Kuoni reviews say

Kuoni holds 4.9 out of 5 for service on Feefo from 7,137 reviews and 4.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 642, the largest review base of the ten companies recorded so far.

Feefo collects reviews from customers who booked, and the newest Kuoni review was posted the day before the read; Feefo rates the holidays themselves 4.7. The Trustpilot profile has been claimed since January 2019. Kuoni lists awards from 2023 to 2026 on its awards page, including Feefo's Platinum Trusted Service award for 2026 and Which? Recommended Provider for family and tailor-made holidays in 2024 and 2025; only the Feefo rating was checked at source.

Who Kuoni suits, and who it does not

Kuoni suits families and couples who want a flight-inclusive package to a beach, safari or city, with the price on the page, a shop or phone line to book through and a duty office behind the trip.

It suits less well a traveller who wants to pick a named specialist before calling: Kuoni publishes no planner biographies. In October 2024 Kuoni said it had been cutting prices since January, retired its Alfred& sub-brand and added cheaper destinations such as Turkey and Orlando to reach more families, according to Travel Gossip.
