I started Uncompromised Travel because I was tired of piecing everything together myself — a forum thread here, a brochure there, a dozen tabs open, never quite sure what to trust. So the rule here is simple: every number on this site can be traced back to where it came from, and if it can't be checked, it doesn't go in.

How the work is done

Every ranking and index is built from primary sources — operators' own published rate sheets, registry and regulator filings, review platforms with the counts and the dates attached. Not supplier marketing, and not other people's round-ups rewritten. Each index publishes its criteria and weights beside the table, states the date it was verified, and links what it was built from, so you can go and check the working.

That is why this site publishes figures the operators themselves don't: what a lodge actually charges per person per night, how many reviews a company really has and how recent they are, and who owns what where ownership is a matter of public record. The safari operator index and the data desk are the clearest examples.

Where a figure can't be verified, the page says so — "not published" rather than a guess dressed up as a fact. A gap stated plainly is worth more than a number invented to fill it.

The site is run from Valencia, which means the European coverage — EU261 and air passenger rights, European carriers, rail and charter across the continent — is written from inside the regulatory area rather than reported from outside it.

When I get it wrong

We do our best to get every detail right, and we're not perfect. When something turns out to be wrong it gets fixed in the open: the article's date updates and any material change is noted on the piece itself. Nothing is quietly edited away. How the site makes money

Two ways, and both are on the disclosure page in detail. Affiliate commissions: some links are tracked, and if you book through one the company pays a commission — the price to you is identical either way. And labelled partner placements, sold to companies on twelve-month terms and marked "Partner" wherever they appear.

Every entry is assessed against the same published criteria, and the order is set by the score. A company can buy a labelled placement, and a partner can be included in an index — assessed on the same criteria as every other entry, and marked Partner in its row. What nobody can buy is a rank. The order is never for sale.
