Sovereign Luxury Travel scores 64/100 as a company record: the UK package holiday brand founded in 1971, owned since July 2025 by the BGF-backed TravCorp Holdings, holds ATOL 0285 and ABTA V4068 and has 11,425 Feefo reviews averaging 4.7, but its only readable prices are for departures in May 2025. Sovereign sells flights and named hotels as packages, not multi-stop itineraries, so this record scores it on the same rubric as every tour operator and says where that rubric does not fit its model.

Sovereign scores 64 out of 100: full marks for reviews and financial protection, and low marks for planning and on-the-ground cover, which a flight-and-hotel package brand is not built to provide. Its Power Rankings score of 63 was set on an older rubric that included brand authority; the rankings will be recalculated from these records.

Sovereign is protected and reviewed like the large package company it is: two numbered schemes and more than 12,000 reviews across two platforms. What the rubric exposes is how little else is published: no named planner or leader, no itinerary, no staff abroad, a terms page that renders no terms, and an offers page whose prices are 16 months out of date.

Who owns Sovereign Luxury Travel?

Sovereign Luxury Travel has been owned since 16 July 2025 by TravCorp Holdings Limited, a UK travel group backed by the investor BGF, which bought the Specialist Holidays Group of Sovereign, Citalia and American Holidays from Travelopia.

Companies House lists TravCorp Holdings Limited as holding 75% or more of Specialist Holidays (Travel) Limited, the company that holds Sovereign's ATOL licence. Travelopia began as TUI's specialist travel group. PhocusWire reported that TravCorp, whose group chief executive is Andrew (Andy) Freeth, also owns Destination2, Destination2 Cruise and Holiday Gems, and that Specialist Holidays Group managing director Helen Adamson would stay; Companies House shows her leaving the licence-holding company's board on 10 October 2025. Sovereign's own site names no leader at all.

How much does a Sovereign holiday cost?

The only Sovereign prices our reader could open run from £619 per person for seven nights in Lanzarote to £2,449 for 11 days in Dubai and the Maldives with flights, and six of the seven, up to £1,700 at Sani Club in Halkidiki, are for departures in May 2025, more than 16 months before this record was read. The prices below were displayed on Sovereign's live last-minute page on 25 September 2026. Current prices on its offer and destination pages load in a search tool that our reader could not open.

Sovereign booking terms and financial protection

Sovereign's holidays are protected by ATOL 0285 and ABTA V4068, both held by Specialist Holidays (Travel) Limited, and the balance is due 14 weeks before departure.

Its protection page says air-inclusive packages are covered by the ATOL licence and packages without flights by a bond held by ABTA. The home page says "ABTA and ATOL protected" without the numbers. The FAQs say the Personal Travel Planner sets any deposit and that instalment plans are paid off 16 weeks before departure. The booking conditions page shows only a pointer to separate "Booking with Confidence" terms, so no cancellation scale could be read for this record. Paying by UK credit card adds Section 75 cover to the ATOL protection.

Support on holiday

Sovereign promises "a 24/7 concierge service, including out of hours, for complete peace of mind, before or during your holiday", but labels no number as its 24-hour line.

The Travel with Confidence page prints 01293 762400 beside the promise; the home page and FAQs print two other 01293 numbers, and the published opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5.30pm. No Sovereign staff or representatives in resorts are mentioned on the pages read.

What Sovereign reviews say

Sovereign holds 4.7 out of 5 on Feefo from 11,425 reviews and 4.9 on Trustpilot from 845, the second profile claimed in January 2017.

Feefo shows 235 ratings in the past year, so most of its total is older; recent Feefo reviews cover hotels such as the Annabelle in Paphos and Domes Baobab Suites in Tenerife. The newest Trustpilot review read was dated 19 September 2026. Sovereign also claims a Feefo Platinum Trusted Service award and four British Travel Awards placings for 2024, none confirmed at the awarding bodies for this record.

Who Sovereign suits, and who it does not

Sovereign suits UK travellers who want a named four or five-star resort, flights and transfers in one ATOL-protected package, arranged by phone with a planner.

It suits less well anyone who wants to compare current prices online before calling, a multi-stop itinerary, or a guide on the ground.
