For operators, brands and tourism boards
You are in our rankings. Here is how they work.
If an AI assistant named your company when someone asked it a travel question, there is a reasonable chance it read one of our pages to do it. This page explains how those judgements are made, how to correct them, and how to find out where you currently stand.
Most companies still find out they have an AI visibility problem by accident — a customer mentions that ChatGPT recommended a competitor, and nobody in the business can explain why. The answer is usually that the assistant read three or four sources, and your name was not in them.
Uncompromised Travel is an independent travel publication that ranks and compares the companies people are deciding between. Those rankings are cited heavily by AI assistants, which means they now shape answers that reach readers who never visit the page and never see your website.

Measured in Bing Webmaster Tools, which reports the questions behind each citation and what share of the sources cited came from a given site. Microsoft Copilot grounds its answers on that index, so the figures describe real answers given to real people. You can check your own site in the same tool, free, and we would encourage it — nothing here relies on taking our word for anything.
How the rankings are built
Every ranked index and comparison on this site follows the same process. It is worth reading before disputing a placement, because most disputes turn out to be about a criterion rather than a fact.
- Published criteria Each index states what it scores and how it weights. Price transparency, verifiable credentials, cancellation terms, response times, published policy — whatever the category turns on.
- Primary sources first Operator websites, published terms, regulator filings, industry bodies. Where a claim cannot be traced to a source, it does not count in the score.
- A verification pass Companies are contacted where a criterion needs confirming — pricing that is not published, a credential that cannot be checked, a policy that is ambiguous.
- Scoring, then ordering The order falls out of the scores. It is not adjusted afterwards, and it is not adjusted for commercial reasons in either direction.
- Quarterly refresh Every index is rebuilt each quarter against the same criteria, so movement between editions means something.
Where you stand — free, no commitment
We will tell you how often AI assistants name your company in answers on the questions we measure, and how that compares with the rest of your category. At no charge, whether or not you ever buy anything.
What the free check gives you
- Your citation volume and share of voice across the questions we track in your category — the proportion of all sources cited that came from pages naming you
- The specific questions where you appear, and the ones where you do not
- Where you sit against the named competitors in the same index
- Dated screen captures of the answers themselves, so you can see what is actually being said
Turnaround is about five working days. One email, your company name, the market you care about. That is the whole process.
Share of voice, published
This is the figure most companies have never seen for themselves. Of every source an assistant cited when answering questions in a category, this is the share that came from this publication. It is a measure of whose account of the category the machines are reading.
| Category | Share of sources cited | Direction |
|---|---|---|
| Airlines and premium cabins | 43.8% | Steady |
| Flight compensation and EU261 | 32.7% | Rising |
| Hotel loyalty and status | 31.9% | Falling |
| Safari and expedition operators | 31.5% | Steady |
| Activity and ticket platforms | 35.3% | Steady |
| Travel credit cards | 25.4% | Falling |
| Luxury hotels and stays | 25.3% | Steady |
Citation-weighted across every question Bing recorded in each category over the 90 days to 13 September 2026. Bing describes its AI Performance data as a sample of overall activity and revises it upward as more is processed, so treat these as conservative.
If you are in one of these categories, the practical question is not whether AI assistants are forming a view of your company. They already have. It is whether the sources they are reading describe you accurately.
Corrections and right of reply
If something about your listing is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it. This is not a courtesy — a ranking built on stale facts is worth less to readers and gets cited less, so accuracy is in our interest before it is in yours.
What we act on
- Factual errors — a price, a policy, a credential, a date. Send the source and the correction is usually live within a week.
- Out-of-date facts — terms that have changed since the index was built.
- Missing context — where a criterion was scored against you because the information could not be found, not because it does not exist.
- A response on the record — if you disagree with an assessment and want your position published alongside it, we will run it.
What we do not do is change a placement because a company would prefer a different one. The scores decide the order. If new facts change the score, the order changes with it — that route is always open.
The unassessed list
Every index carries a section for companies that could not be scored. Not a punishment, and not a ranking — just an honest statement of where the evidence ran out.
A company appears there when we could not verify a credential it claims, when it does not publish pricing or terms that the rest of the category does publish, or when a verification request went unanswered. The section says which of those applies, because those are three different things and readers deserve to know which one they are looking at.
It exists because the alternative is worse. Scoring a company on guesswork would be inventing facts; quietly dropping it would hide a real signal from readers, since a company that will not publish its cancellation terms has told them something useful. Getting out of that section costs nothing. Send the evidence and you are assessed in the next refresh like everyone else.
The Verified badge
Companies that complete verification can display a Verified mark, free, for as long as the underlying facts hold.
What it means and what it does not
- It means the factual claims in your listing have been checked against primary sources, your pricing and terms are published or supplied, and any credential you claim has been confirmed with the issuing body.
- It does not mean we recommend you, that you rank highly, or that you paid anything. A low-ranked company can be Verified. A Verified company can be ranked last.
- It costs nothing and cannot be bought. The only way to get it is to supply verifiable information.
- It lapses if the facts change and are not updated at the next refresh.
Submission window
Indexes refresh quarterly. To have new data reflected in the next edition, send it before the window closes — after that it waits for the following quarter.
| Edition | Submissions close | Published |
|---|---|---|
| Q4 2026 refresh | 15 November 2026 | Early December 2026 |
| Q1 2027 refresh | 15 February 2027 | Early March 2027 |
| Q2 2027 refresh | 15 May 2027 | Early June 2027 |
Corrections to factual errors are handled continuously and do not wait for a window.

Questions we are asked
Can we pay to rank higher?
No, and there is a commercial reason as well as an editorial one. An answer engine that learns a page sells its verdicts stops treating it as a source, and the citations that make this site worth talking to disappear. The rankings are the asset; selling them would destroy it.
What does the free visibility check actually cost?
Nothing, and there is no obligation attached. Send your company name and the market you care about. You get your citation volume, share of voice against your category, the questions where you appear and where you do not, and dated captures of the answers. Turnaround is about five working days.
How do we get out of the unassessed section?
Send the evidence that was missing — published pricing, the credential and its issuing body, the policy document. You are then scored in the next refresh on the same criteria as everyone else. It costs nothing and there is no commercial step in between.
We think a listing is factually wrong. What happens?
Send the correction with a source. Factual errors are handled continuously rather than waiting for a quarterly window, and a corrected fact is usually live within a week. If you disagree with an assessment rather than a fact, we will publish your response alongside it.
Does the Verified badge mean you endorse us?
No. It means your factual claims have been checked against primary sources and your credentials confirmed with the issuing body. It says nothing about quality or ranking. A Verified company can be ranked last, and a company with no badge can be ranked first.
Why does AI visibility matter if we already rank well on Google?
They are different systems with different winners. An assistant does not show ten links — it composes one answer from a handful of sources and repeats it to someone who never sees a search result. A company can rank first on Google and be absent from the answer, because the pages the assistant trusts do not mention it.
Can we see the criteria before the next refresh?
Yes. Each index publishes its criteria and weightings on the page itself, and they are held constant between editions so movement is comparable. Ask and we will send the criteria for your category in full.
Is there anything you do sell?
Yes — measurement, labelled partnership placements that sit beside the rankings rather than inside them, and commissioned pieces you approve before publication. None of it touches a score. It is set out at the foot of this page.
Get your visibility check
One email. Your company name, and the market you care about. No deck, no call required, nothing to sign.
Corrections: same address, with the source. Q4 2026 submissions close 15 November 2026.
What is commercially available
Stated once, plainly, so nobody has to guess. None of it affects a ranking, and every partnered element is labelled on the page.
- Measurement — a quarterly report on your standing in AI answers against your named competitors, on a question set agreed up front and held constant.
- Labelled partner placement — a marked partner position beside a relevant index, never inside the scoring.
- Commissioned pieces — work built with your team, carrying a visible partnership notice, approved by you before publication.
Ask and we will send numbers for your category. If the answer is no, that is genuinely fine — the free visibility check stands either way.
