Travel Intelligence · EU261 claim company records 2026
By Richard J. · written from ValenciaRecord score 35/100Verified 26 September 2026
Skycop scores 35 out of 100 as a claim company record: the Vilnius firm charges a flat EUR 264 including VAT on a EUR 600 award, 44%, the highest settled fee of the ten claim companies on this rubric, rises to EUR 300 once legal proceedings start, and publishes no success rate, no payout deadline and no owner. This record covers the company behind the claim: who runs it, what it takes from an award at each stage, what its terms say if a claim fails, its reviews and the gaps. Our EU261 trust index and fees comparison linked below rank the claim companies side by side; this page records one of them in full.

Is this your company? Correct a fact. Skycop can correct any line of this record through the contact page. Corrections are logged with the previous value kept, and the score moves only if the evidence does.
Skycop scores 35 out of 100: held back by the highest settled fee among the ten claim companies scored here, no published success rate, and a Trustpilot rating of 2.6, while its terms exempt a client from costs on an unsuccessful claim in legal proceedings. That is ninth of the ten claim companies scored on this rubric, twenty-five points short of the pass mark our trust index uses to rank a company. The index already reads 35 in its evidence base on the same six criteria, so this record agrees with it; the four-way comparison and the fees page instead put Skycop at 67 out of 100, because they score value for a typical claim on their own five-part rubric, not this one.
| Criterion | Points | Out of | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fee, settled claim | 0 | 15 | A flat EUR 264 including VAT on a EUR 600 award, 44%; EUR 110 on EUR 250 and EUR 176 on EUR 400 (0 of 15). |

| Success rate as published | 0 | 15 | No success rate is published; its home page cites "1M+ compensated customers" instead (0 of 5). Nothing says what a rate would measure (0 of 5), and no average time to payout for a standard claim (0 of 5). |
| Passenger protection in the terms | 20 | 25 | Nothing is charged if no compensation is recovered, and clause 2.7 exempts the client from costs if a claim in legal proceedings is not upheld (5 of 5). If the airline pays you directly, its fee is due within 10 days (4.4) (5 of 5). No payout deadline in the terms; the two-working-day payout on its home page is the optional Fast Payout, which pays 25% of the compensation (0 of 5). Skycop publishes flat fees by distance band, a dated price list and terms, a fourteen-day withdrawal window and a ten-day deadline once the airline pays a passenger directly. It does not publish a success rate, an average time to payout for a standard claim, an owner, or whether its legal proceedings fee replaces or adds to the fee already charged.

The record holds 17 facts about Skycop, each with its source and grade. Grade A means the company's own site or terms; grade B means a registry, review platform, awarding body or major press; grade C means a secondary source not confirmed elsewhere. Every line was read on 26 September 2026 unless its source says otherwise.

UAB Skycop.com names no owner on its own pages, and the clearest ownership signal is a September 2022 press report that Tomas Vaišvila bought the company.
Its terms and its contact us page name the operating company as UAB Skycop.com, legal entity code 304423851, and its about us page says only that it has been "Defending passengers' rights since 2017", with no leadership named. The Lithuanian company registry, read via Okredo, lists Tomas Vaišvila as director and shows the sole shareholder as one undisclosed foreign legal entity. 15min.lt reported on 15 September 2022 that Vaišvila, a former head of Vilnius Airport, had acquired Skycop; a related Lithuanian holding company, UAB Skycop Team, lists him as director from December 2022 but is not confirmed as that shareholder.
Skycop charges a flat EUR 110, EUR 176 or EUR 264 including VAT by flight distance, rising to EUR 125, EUR 200 or EUR 300 once it starts legal proceedings. Worked from its price list, last updated 1 May 2024 and read on 26 September 2026. Its distance bands are not labelled by compensation amount; the EUR 250, EUR 400 and EUR 600 columns below assume the standard match between EU261's distance bands and its award amounts.
| Award | Fee without court | Fee in legal proceedings |
|---|---|---|
| EUR 250 | EUR 110.00, you keep EUR 140.00 | EUR 125.00, you keep EUR 125.00 |
| EUR 400 | EUR 176.00, you keep EUR 224.00 | EUR 200.00, you keep EUR 200.00 |
| EUR 600 | EUR 264.00, you keep EUR 336.00 | EUR 300.00, you keep EUR 300.00 |
Every figure already includes VAT, as Skycop's price list states, without giving a rate. Its price list calls the legal proceedings fee "the increased remuneration" and does not say whether it replaces the settled fee already charged for the same claim or is added on top of it; this record and our trust index read it as replacing it, as the highest figure in a range. Skycop charges nothing up front, and nothing at all if a claim fails. How its fees compare with ten rivals, on the same EUR 600 award, is in the claim company fees comparison; what a claim is worth before any fee is set out in the EU261 compensation calculator.
Skycop's terms charge nothing if compensation is not recovered and exempt a client from costs if a court claim is not upheld, but set no general payout deadline.
| Situation | What the terms say | Clause |
|---|---|---|
| The claim fails | Nothing charged if the compensation is not recovered from the airline | Price list |
| A legal proceedings claim is not upheld | The client is exempt from any costs incurred | 2.7 |
| You change your mind | Withdraw within 14 days by email as a consumer | 5.2 |
| Withdrawal after work begins | Skycop may charge administration, court, bailiff and representative costs | 5.3 |
| The airline pays you directly | Pay Skycop's remuneration within 10 days of receiving the compensation | 4.4 |
| Skycop is paid | SEPA bank transfer; international transfer fees are deducted from your share; no deadline in days | 3.8 |
The terms were updated on 5 September 2025 and are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania. Why a claim company's promise on an unsuccessful court case matters more than its headline fee is explained in no win, no fee flight compensation, explained.
Skycop takes a claim by assignment, deducts its flat fee once a settlement is reached, raises its fee if legal proceedings start, and publishes no average time from claim to payout for a standard claim.
Skycop assesses a claim and pursues it under an assignment of the client's monetary claim, or as a contract for services where an assignment is not valid in the jurisdiction (section 2). If a settlement is not reached, Skycop "will initiate Legal Proceedings and will be entitled to the increased remuneration"; if its legal representative judges a claim unlikely to succeed, the claim and assignment revert to the client (2.6). Separately, an eligible client may accept a Fast Payout: 25% of the compensation within about 48 hours, an offer valid for one month and void if the claim is later rejected, parked or expired, giving up the remaining 75% "to cover legal and processing costs". How long claims take across the market, and why court cases take longest, is in how long a flight compensation claim takes.
Skycop publishes no success rate; its home page cites "1M+ compensated customers" instead, which counts volume, not outcomes.
"1M+ compensated customers", "250+ airlines" and "10+ years trusted" appear on its home page; none of the three states what share of claims succeeds or how long a claim takes to pay. Among the ten claim companies scored on this rubric, Skycop is one of five that publish no rate at all, along with Compensair, Flight-Delayed.com, AirClaim and EUclaim.
Skycop holds 2.6 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 8,428 reviews, the second lowest rating among the ten claim companies scored here.
On the skycop.com listing, claimed since April 2017, 37% of reviews give one star, and Skycop has replied to 99% of negative reviews. No second review platform with a rating was found. What review platforms can and cannot tell a buyer is set out in who reviews the reviewers.
Skycop suits a passenger who wants a fixed fee known in advance and is willing to trade three quarters of the award for a payout in about 48 hours through Fast Payout.
It suits less well a passenger who wants the lowest all-in fee: at EUR 264 on a EUR 600 award, Skycop's settled fee is the highest of the ten claim companies scored on this rubric. A passenger should also weigh Skycop's 2.6 Trustpilot rating, the second lowest of the ten. Whether to use a claim company at all, or claim directly, is weighed in claims companies against claiming yourself.
Whether Skycop takes the claim or not, the size of the award, the time limit, the airline's reply and the next disrupted trip are the passenger's own decisions.
