Compensair Review 2026: Fees, Court Costs, Owner and a Record Score of 60

By Richard J. · written from ValenciaRecord score 60/100Verified 26 September 2026

Compensair scores 60/100 as a claim company record: the Singapore firm charges 30% of an award, VAT position not stated, and a further 10% if legal costs arise, 40% in all, with a Trustpilot record among the best of the ten claim companies scored here, but it publishes no success rate and names no owner. This record covers the company behind the claim: who runs it, what it takes from an award at each stage, what its terms say if a claim fails, its reviews and the gaps. Our EU261 trust index and fees comparison linked below rank the claim companies side by side; this page records one of them in full.

How Compensair scores: 60 out of 100

Compensair scores 60 out of 100: full marks for its Trustpilot reputation, held back by a success rate it does not publish and a court cost rule its terms do not state. That is fifth of the ten claim companies scored on this rubric, exactly at the trust index's pass mark, where it also ranks fifth of five; the record agrees with the index on both. The four-way comparison ranks Compensair fourth at 79 out of 100 because it scores value for a typical claim, where a flat 10% court surcharge scores well under that different weighting; this record scores the same 40% combined rate against this rubric's own bands.

How the score works (100 points). Fee, settled claim 15: the all-in share of a EUR 600 award, VAT included, when the airline pays without court (20% or less scores 15, falling 3 points for each further 5 percentage points, 0 above 40%) · Fee, court claim 15: the all-in share once any legal surcharge is added (25% or less 15, down to 3 at 50%, 0 above 50% or unpublished) · Success rate as published 15: a number, what it measures, and an average time to payout · Passenger protection in the terms 25: nothing to pay if the claim fails, court costs included; what you owe if you withdraw or the airline pays you directly; a payout deadline in days; payout method and charges; dated or versioned terms · Ownership and transparency 15: legal entity and country, owner or group, registration number · Independent reputation 15: Trustpilot rating and review count on the read date. This is the rubric our EU261 claim company trust index published on 24 September 2026, applied unchanged, so a record and the index give the same number on the same evidence. Scores are ours; the inputs are linked. For claim companies, fixed before any was re-read: a fee quoted as a range is scored at the top of the range, the home country's VAT is added where a fee is quoted without it, and products other than the standard no win, no fee service, such as instant payouts, are reported but not scored.

Compensair publishes its settled and court fees, a 30 business day payout deadline and who bears bank transfer charges. It does not publish a success rate, a rule on who bears court costs if a claim is lost, a VAT position on either fee, or an owner beyond the Singapore entity that signs the contract.

Who owns Compensair?

Compensair Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is the contracting party for a claim, and its own pages name no owner, shareholder or founder.

Its terms and conditions name Compensair Pte. Ltd., Singapore UEN 201913904W, as the party a passenger contracts with, governed by Singapore law. The London address in its footer, Kemp House, 160 City Rd, Old Street, belongs to a separate, actively registered UK company, COMPENSAIR LTD (no. 10018306, active since 22 February 2016), whose Companies House record gives its activities as IT services and data processing, not legal or claims work. No owner, shareholder or founder is named on Compensair's own site or in its terms, and none could be confirmed against a registry or press source, so none are named here.

How much does Compensair charge?

Compensair charges 30% of the compensation with no stated VAT position, and a further 10% if legal costs arise, 40% in all. Worked from its payment policy on 26 September 2026; neither figure is described as including or excluding VAT.

AwardFee at 30%, before courtFee at 40%, if legal costs arise
EUR 250EUR 75.00, you keep EUR 175.00EUR 100.00, you keep EUR 150.00
EUR 400EUR 120.00, you keep EUR 280.00EUR 160.00, you keep EUR 240.00
EUR 600EUR 180.00, you keep EUR 420.00EUR 240.00, you keep EUR 360.00

Compensair's payment policy does not say whether VAT is included in either figure, so both are reported as printed, with no VAT added. It publishes no minimum fee and no worked examples of its own. How its fees compare with ten rivals, on the same EUR 600 award, is in the claim company fees comparison; what a claim is worth before any fee is set out in the EU261 compensation calculator.

What Compensair's terms say if a claim fails, you withdraw or the airline pays you

Compensair charges its fee only on success, but its terms name no rule on who bears court costs if a claim or a court case is lost.

SituationWhat the terms sayClause
The claim failsThe service fee is charged only on success; no clause states who bears court costs if a claim or a court case is lost2.6 to 2.9
A duplicate claim breaches the contractThe client bears all court costs and legal fees arising from the duplicate claim2.6, 2.8
You change your mindYou may withdraw within 7 calendar days of acceptance, unless Compensair has already submitted documents to the airline2.5
The airline pays you directlyThe service fee is still due on any payment, voucher or other benefit received from the airline or a third party2.9
Compensair is paidIt pays you by bank transfer within 30 business days; you bear the bank's transfer feesPayment policy
How you signYou irrevocably authorise Compensair and its partners to recover the compensation2.7.1

Its terms and conditions carry no date of their own; its payment policy is dated 23 June 2023 and governs the fee. Both are governed by Singapore law, with disputes submitted to the courts of Singapore (6.3 to 6.4). Why a claim company's promise on a lost case matters more than its headline fee is explained in no win, no fee flight compensation, explained.

How a Compensair claim runs, and how long it takes

Compensair analyses a claim with its own software, negotiates with the airline, and says pre-court acceptance usually takes about 8 weeks.

Compensair describes its process as an analysis of the case, drafting and sending documents to the relevant parties, and negotiation with the airline; it does not publish a step naming when court proceedings begin. Its FAQ states "on average we ensure pre-court acceptance within first 8 weeks after claim submission"; where court proceedings follow, the same page implies a further period on top, extending the total to roughly 16 to 20 weeks, by its own account. Payout follows within 30 business days once Compensair is paid. How long claims take across the market, and why court cases take longest, is in how long a flight compensation claim takes.

What Compensair's success rate does not show

Compensair publishes no success rate at all, on its home page or its FAQ.

Where other claim companies state a percentage, Compensair states none. Its only published timing, pre-court acceptance "within first 8 weeks", measures how quickly a claim is accepted rather than how often one succeeds or how long a passenger waits to be paid once it does. Among the ten claim companies scored on this rubric, Flightright, MYFLYRIGHT, RefundMore and Fairplane publish a rate tied to court cases, and AirAdvisor gives 98% with no stated basis; Flight-Delayed.com, AirClaim, Skycop and EUclaim also publish none.

What Compensair reviews say

Compensair holds 4.5 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 1,690 reviews, among the highest ratings of the ten claim companies scored here.

On the Trustpilot listing, 9% of reviews give one star and Compensair has replied to 91% of negative reviews; the profile has been claimed since April 2019. No second review platform with a rating was found. What review platforms can and cannot tell a buyer is set out in who reviews the reviewers.

Who Compensair suits, and who it does not

Compensair suits a passenger who values a strong Trustpilot record and is comfortable with a claim decided mostly by negotiation rather than a stated success figure.

It suits less well a passenger who wants a published success rate, a stated VAT position on either fee, or a rule on who bears court costs if a case is lost: Compensair's terms are silent on all three. Its 40% court stage total keeps EUR 360 of a EUR 600 award, more than a passenger keeps under Flightright, AirAdvisor, Flight-Delayed.com, AirClaim or Skycop at their own court stages. A passenger weighing whether to use a claim company at all, or claim directly, is served by claims companies against claiming yourself.
