Red Savannah Review 2026: Prices for 34 Itineraries, Who Owns It and a Record Score of 65

By Richard J. · written from ValenciaRecord score 65/100Verified 25 September 2026

Red Savannah scores 65/100 as a company record: the Cheltenham tailor-made company George Morgan-Grenville founded in 2011 prices its sample itineraries by season, 34 of them read for this record, holds ATOL 10454 and ABTOT 5566, and has no independent review record at all. This record covers the whole company, Africa and the other nine regions it sells, plus villas, yachts and ski, with ownership, prices, terms, support, reviews and the gaps, each line sourced and dated.

How Red Savannah scores: 65 out of 100

Red Savannah scores 65 out of 100: full marks for pricing and protection and near full marks for planning, with nothing at all for review evidence. It is not on our Power Rankings; the rankings will be recalculated from these records.

How the score works (100 points). Planning depth 25: named specialists with stated first-hand experience of the regions they sell, leaders' destination experience, countries covered, sample itineraries day by day with named hotels, and years trading · On-the-ground cover 20: a published 24-hour number, presence inside the destinations, and the company's own guides or hosts on the trip · Pricing transparency 20: priced sample trips, inclusions, currency and season, and published booking terms · Review evidence 20: the best independent review platform by score and volume, a second platform, and a review in the last six months · Financial protection 15: numbered ATOL, ABTA or ABTOT cover in the UK, USTOA in the US, provincial registration in Canada. Red Savannah publishes almost everything a buyer needs except what its clients think. On prices, planners and protection it matches or beats the best-known names; the 20 points it loses on reviews are the difference between it and the top of the table, and they are the easiest to recover.

Who owns Red Savannah?

Red Savannah Ltd no longer has anyone registered as holding more than 25%: its founder, George Morgan-Grenville, ceased to be a person with significant control on 2 October 2025, and the company has filed since then that no registrable person exists.

Morgan-Grenville remains founder, chief executive and a director. On the day he ceased as a controller, Caroline Morgan-Grenville was appointed company secretary, and the registered office moved from Reading to Cheltenham at the end of that month. The only capital changes around then are two small share allotments, in November 2024 and March 2026; between those two filings the share capital rose by less than £17. No statement or press coverage explains the change; the filings are consistent with shares being spread so that no single holder is above 25%, rather than with a sale.

The company's standing was recognised in 2025, when The London Gazette listed Red Savannah Ltd among the King's Awards for Enterprise winners for international trade.

Who plans a Red Savannah trip

Red Savannah names ten planners and leaders, all based in the UK, and several state first-hand experience of the regions they sell.

Ian Mackinnon, chief operating officer and a director since 2023, "spent six years living between Peru and Chile" and worked two years as a hiking and horse-riding guide in southern Patagonia. Sam Goold, who plans Japan and Southeast Asia, lived seven years in New Zealand and once stayed with a family on a floating house in the Mekong Delta. Clare Watkins, regional manager for Europe, lived in Bordeaux and then Rome. Samantha Gordon, regional director for Africa, describes 22 years of exploring the continent. None is described as based abroad.

How much does a Red Savannah trip cost?

Red Savannah prices its 22 Africa itineraries between USD 4,007 and USD 25,792 per person by season, and its itineraries elsewhere between USD 2,728 for a long weekend in Oman and USD 39,798 for Wild Alaska. Prices below were read on 25 September 2026, per person, from, two sharing.

Classic Vietnam shows the level of detail: November to April, with nights at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, aboard the Au Co in Ha Long Bay, at the Ancient Hue Garden Houses, the Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Mia Saigon and Legacy Mekong, and inclusions of all accommodation, daily breakfast, private transfers, sightseeing, guides and internal flights. The Africa pages add low, mid and high season prices.

Red Savannah booking terms and financial protection

Red Savannah holds ATOL 10454 and ABTOT membership 5566, takes a 25% deposit on packages and wants the balance 60 days before departure.

Accommodation-only bookings take a 30% deposit and yacht charters 25% to 50%, in each case with a minimum of GBP 250 or USD 400 per person. The terms carry no date.

When you cancel a packageCharge
61 days or more before departureThe deposit
60 to 30 daysThe deposit or 60% of the cost, whichever is higher
29 days or fewer100%

For accommodation-only bookings and yacht charters, cancelling within 60 days costs 100%. Changes cost GBP 50 or USD 75 per element before travel, and GBP 100 or USD 150 once travelling.

Support on the ground

Red Savannah's phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30 GMT, and it says its "24/7 support team are always available to help in an emergency" without printing a 24-hour number.

The only 24-hour number on its protection page belongs to ABTOT and covers insolvency, not travel problems. Guides in the destination are arranged locally, as the itinerary inclusions make clear, and no Red Savannah office or employee abroad is named.

Red Savannah villas, yachts and ski

Beyond tailor-made trips, Red Savannah sells luxury villas, including an ultra-high-end Reserve Estates collection, yacht and gulet charters, and a VIP Ski programme in the Alps.

Charters cover Turkey, Croatia, Greece and Italy, with phinisi yachts in Indonesia. VIP Ski packages feature hotels such as COMO Alpina Dolomites, Le Coucou in Méribel and Six Senses Crans-Montana, and include seven nights with breakfast, private transfers, lift pass, equipment and a day of private ski guiding; no ski price was published at the time of reading.

What Red Savannah reviews say

There is no independent review record for Red Savannah: its Trustpilot profile is unclaimed and has no reviews, and no Feefo, Travelstride or similar profile was found.

The company publishes client testimonials and a self-reported Net Promoter Score of 92; neither can be checked independently, so neither counts in this score. This one criterion costs Red Savannah 20 points.

Who Red Savannah suits, and who it does not

Red Savannah suits travellers who want a private itinerary with the hotels named and the price by season in front of them, and who may want a villa, a yacht or a ski week from the same company.

It suits less well a buyer who relies on independent reviews before booking, or who wants a 24-hour number and a weekend phone line.
