The Luxury Travel Agency Review 2026: Fees, Terms and Protection at a Virtuoso Agency, Assessed, Not Scored

By Richard J. · written from ValenciaAssessed, not scoredVerified 25 September 2026

The Luxury Travel Agency is a Toronto and Nashville travel agency, a Virtuoso member since 2019, that books hotels, cruises and tours as the traveller's agent: it publishes spending bands from $20,000 a trip, not trip prices, and each supplier's terms decide the deposit and the cancellation charges. Because the booking terms are the suppliers', this record assesses the agency line by line on the tour operator rubric without a score. It covers who runs it, what it costs, its terms and registration, reviews and the gaps.

Why The Luxury Travel Agency is assessed, not scored

The Luxury Travel Agency is assessed but not scored because it sells as the traveller's agent: the hotel, cruise line or tour operator it books sets the deposit, the cancellation charges and the delivery of the trip. A score would mostly describe the suppliers it books. What the agency itself controls, its fees, payment deadline, registration and advisors, is set out below.

How records are scored, and why this one is not. Company records score what a buyer can check before paying, on five criteria worth 100 points: planning depth 25, on-the-ground cover 20, pricing transparency 20, review evidence 20 and financial protection 15. The score belongs to the company whose booking terms govern the traveller's money. Its terms say it "acts only as agent for the traveler" and does not "own, manage, operate, supervise, or control" any transport or hotel, and it sets no deposit or cancellation scale of its own. So The Luxury Travel Agency is assessed on the same five criteria, line by line below, and given no total. Rubric fixed on 25 September 2026 before any company was scored; the inputs are linked.
CriterionWhat the record shows
Planning depthSix advisors are named on Virtuoso's directory, with no biographies on the agency's own site; the founders say they have visited more than 90 countries. The site is organised by theme, such as safaris and private islands, not by country, and publishes no sample itineraries. Founded 2013.
On-the-ground coverNo 24-hour number for leisure travellers; its business travel page promises "24/7 support for disruptions and changes". As an agent it has no guides or offices in destinations; suppliers deliver the trip.
Pricing transparencySpending bands instead of trip prices: custom itineraries "begin at $20,000" and hotel stays at "$800/night", in four tiers up to "$250,000+". Final payment is due 60 days before departure; deposits and cancellation follow each supplier; a non-refundable planning fee may apply, with no amount stated.
Review evidenceNo reviews found: its Trustpilot profile is unclaimed and empty, and no other platform listing was found.
Financial protectionRegistered with Ontario's Travel Industry Council, TICO 50024754, printed on its contact and terms pages; no US state registration is published for the Tennessee company.

The agency is open about the parts of its business it controls: the two companies behind it, its spending bands, its payment deadline and its Ontario registration. The parts a traveller would check next, the advisors' experience and what past clients say, are not on the site.

How The Luxury Travel Agency works, and who you pay

The Luxury Travel Agency plans a trip and books each part of it as the traveller's agent, so the hotels, cruise lines and tour operators it uses set their own deposits and cancellation terms, and the agency may add a planning fee.

Its terms, published on 1 July 2024 and modified on 16 October 2025, say the agency "does not own, manage, operate, supervise, or control any transportation, vehicle, airplane, hotel or restaurants", that deposits are "typically NON-REFUNDABLE, unless stated otherwise in the terms and conditions of the Supplier", and that full payment is due 60 days before departure. Its "Consultation, Planning and Travel Management Fee, if any" is non-refundable even if the trip is cancelled. As a Virtuoso member since 2019, it can add Virtuoso's partner-hotel perks; the Virtuoso record explains what those include.

What The Luxury Travel Agency costs

The Luxury Travel Agency says its custom itineraries begin at $20,000 and its hotel-only bookings at $800 a night, and it sorts clients into four spending tiers up to "$250,000+".

TierCustom trip, totalPreferred hotel, per night
1$20,000 to $50,000$800 to $1,000
2$50,000 to $100,000$1,000 to $1,500
3$100,000 to $250,000$1,500 to $2,000
4$250,000 and more$2,000 and more

The plan my trip page does not state the currency; US dollars are the likely reading for a company with a Tennessee arm, but the page does not say so. It describes the top tier as "ultra-custom travel with private access, top-tier partners, and no compromises". Who runs The Luxury Travel Agency

The Luxury Travel Agency was founded in 2013 by Dr Nabeel Alateeqi, its president, and Andrew Satkowiak, its executive vice president, and no outside owner is named.

The About page says the founders have travelled to more than 90 countries; a Nashville profile on franklinis.com quotes Satkowiak on 49 days through 18 places in Brazil and more than 90 days in Africa over two years. Virtuoso's directory lists six advisors, but the agency's own site has no team page or biographies. Its safari page says "our team" has been on luxury African safaris "for over two decades", without naming who.

Where The Luxury Travel Agency is based

The Luxury Travel Agency lists two offices, in Toronto and Nashville, both open by appointment, and one of its own pages says it has no physical presence in Toronto.

The contact page gives 120-56 Aberfoyle Crescent in Toronto and a suite at 4117 Hillsboro Pike in Nashville. A Toronto page on the same site says "the Internet has rendered physical proximity a thing of the past" and gives a Toronto number, 647 551 5460, with two digits swapped from the 647 551 4560 on the contact page. A traveller should confirm the number and the address before sending money.

What The Luxury Travel Agency reviews say

No reviews of The Luxury Travel Agency could be found: its Trustpilot profile is unclaimed and has none, and no Better Business Bureau or other listing was found.

For an agency whose trips start at $20,000, that leaves a buyer relying on referrals and the Virtuoso membership. Who reviews the reviewers explains which platforms carry weight for travel companies.

Who The Luxury Travel Agency suits, and who it does not

The Luxury Travel Agency suits high-spending travellers in Ontario or Tennessee who want one advisor to book hotels, cruises and safaris, with Virtuoso perks and Ontario registration.

It suits less well a traveller who wants published trip prices, reviews to read or a tour operator that runs the trip itself. For those, the company records with scores, such as Scott Dunn and Black Tomato, and the Power Rankings are the place to start.
