Maybourne is fourth of the twenty brands on our luxury hotel brand hierarchy, at 91 out of 100: six hotels in London, the French Riviera and Los Angeles, with no owner named on any Maybourne page and a UK Companies House filing that names Regis Maybourne (UK) Ltd as its controlling shareholder, and His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani as the person controlling that company. This record is the evidence file behind that score. Maybourne publishes where its six hotels are, who leads the company and its hotels, and what a Signature Suite stay includes; it publishes little else a guest could check before booking: no owner, no room rate, no best-rate guarantee and no room count for four of the six hotels. Outside ratings say more than the brand's own pages: Forbes Travel Guide rates four of the six hotels Five-Star and the fifth Four-Star, the MICHELIN Guide gives every one of the six hotels a Key, and Hélène Darroze at The Connaught holds three MICHELIN stars.

The persons with significant control filing for Maybourne Hotels Limited (company number 03669284, registered at 27 Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7LY, incorporated 12 November 1998) names Regis Maybourne (UK) Ltd as holding 75% or more of its shares and votes since 27 May 2020, with the right to appoint directors. The equivalent filing for Regis Maybourne (UK) Ltd names His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani as holding the same share since 22 April 2020. An earlier entry for His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al Thani, holding more than 25% but not more than 50% of Maybourne Hotels Limited since 13 March 2020, is marked ceased on 9 July 2026; no page we opened states what, if anything, changed.
Our luxury hotel brand hierarchy names the owner "Constellation Hotels (Qatar)", a name that appears in none of these filings and on no Maybourne page. Our own independent hotel group index instead says the owner is Qatari investors associated with the Al Thani family, closer to what Companies House shows, though it too does not use the name Constellation Hotels. Day-to-day leadership is named only in dated press releases: Marc Socker as CEO, Roland Fasel as COO, and Thomas Kochs as Claridge's managing director; no leadership page lists any of them.

Our own independent hotel group index ranks Maybourne first of six groups at 62 out of 100, on a different scale that scores award density and ownership transparency rather than hotel quality; it also says all six hotels hold a MICHELIN Key, confirmed by the MICHELIN Guide's own hotel pages, though it names only five of the six properties it counts, leaving out The Emory. Its travel-advisers page returned no content to our reader. The Flexjet partnership, extended on 29 June 2026, gives Signature Suite guests flying private into London a complimentary helicopter transfer from Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Luton or Stansted, now across Claridge's, The Connaught, The Berkeley and The Emory.
