Business Travel Credit Cards With Lounge Access in 2026: 6 Cards Compared, Plus Employee Cards, Guest Rules and the Differences That Matter
By Richard J. · written from Valencia6 cards scored /100Verified 2 October 2026
The best business credit card for lounge access in 2026 is the Capital One Venture X Business, at 89/100: a $395 annual fee, lounge access for up to four employee cards at $125 each, and two free Priority Pass guests per visit for every lounge-enabled card, followed by the American Express Business Platinum (UK) at 81, the Business Platinum Card from American Express (US) at 73 and the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business at 61. Six cards are scored on six published criteria, weighted for what a business actually buys: lounge access for the people who travel, not only the owner. Four clear the pass mark of 60. The Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business (56) and the United Club Business Card (34) are assessed, not ranked, and the Amex Business Gold has no lounge access at all.

Business travel credit cards lounge access comparison
Ranked on lounge access for a business, the four cards that pass are the Capital One Venture X Business (89), the American Express Business Platinum UK (81), the Business Platinum Card from American Express US (73) and the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business (61). The order is decided by one question most comparisons skip: can the people who travel for the business get in without the owner beside them, and at what price.
How the score works (100 points). Employee access 25: whether employee cards carry their own lounge access, and the fee per card (25 at $150 or less, 20 at $151 to $300 or with a free first card, 15 above $300, 5 if employees enter only as guests) · Network reach 25: lounges reachable on the card (25 for 1,500+ across several networks including the issuer's own, 20 for Priority Pass plus the issuer's lounges, 10 or less for one airline) · Guest rules 15: free guests per visit without a spend threshold · Cost for five 20: the yearly cost of giving five people their own access, per person · Restrictions 10: visit caps and same-airline rules · Spend thresholds 5: whether guests or extra visits need $50,000 or more of yearly spend. Pass mark 60, fixed before scoring. Scores are ours; the inputs are linked.

The pattern is plain. The two cards with the most lounges, the American Express Business Platinum cards, lose their lead on what employees cost: $400 a card in the US against $125 at Capital One. The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business has the most generous guest rule of the six, two free guests at its own lounges and at Priority Pass, yet scores 5 of 25 on employee access because its employee cards carry none. The two airline cards lose on reach: the Delta card works only on Delta flights, with a 15-visit cap, and the United card gives employees nothing unless the account holds All Access. Employee access decides the order more than any other criterion.
Business travel credit cards lounge access differences
The differences that decide a business card's lounge value are four: whether employee cards get their own access (yes on Capital One, both Amex Business Platinum cards and the Delta card; no on Chase and United), how many free guests each card allows, which networks are included, and what it costs to give five people their own access, from $895 a year on Capital One to $2,495 on the US Amex. The cost of equipping a team is the number most comparisons leave out, so it is laid out below for five people who each need their own access.

Two things catch businesses out. On the US Business Platinum, a free Employee Business Expense Card looks like an employee card but carries no lounge access; the American Express lounge terms exclude Expense Cards from the Global Lounge Collection and the Centurion Lounge. On Capital One, adding employee cards is free, but the $125 lounge pass has to be switched on for each one, up to four. For the personal versions of these cards, see the best credit cards for airport lounge access.
Which business credit cards give employees their own lounge access
Four business cards give employee cards their own lounge access in 2026: the Capital One Venture X Business ($125 a card, up to four), the American Express Business Platinum UK (one Platinum employee card free, then £295), the Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business ($175 a card, 15 Sky Club visits each) and the US Business Platinum Card from American Express ($400 a card). The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business and the United Club Business Card do not: their employee cards are free, and carry no lounge membership.

The Delta card is the cheapest way to give staff their own airport lounge if the business flies Delta: $175 a card for 15 visits a year. Outside Delta flights it gives them nothing. For a mixed-airline team, the Capital One pass at $125 covers Priority Pass at any airline. Our Airport Lounge Programme Index scores the networks themselves, including Priority Pass and the Centurion Lounge.
Business credit cards lounge access guest policy compared
The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business is the only card here with two free guests at both its own lounges and Priority Pass and no spend threshold; the Capital One Venture X Business and the US Amex Business Platinum give two free guests at Priority Pass but charge for guests at their own lounges ($45 and $50) unless the account spends $75,000 a year. The UK Business Platinum allows one free Priority Pass guest per card, and the airline cards rely on guest passes.

Business Gold card lounge access details
The American Express Business Gold Card has no airport lounge access in 2026: its $375 annual fee buys points, not lounges, and lounge access on Amex business cards comes only with the Business Platinum. The Points Guy's comparison states it plainly: no lounge access on the Business Gold, access on the Business Platinum after enrolment. Employee Gold cards added to a Business Platinum account are no workaround either: American Express states that Gold and Green additional cards on a Platinum account are not eligible for complimentary Centurion Lounge access, on both the US and the UK terms. A business that wants lounges for staff pays for Platinum employee cards, or chooses Capital One.
Lounge rules on business cards changed four times between September 2025 and October 2026. Capital One added a paid $125 lounge pass for employee cards on 1 February 2026, where its Business card previously offered them none; American Express tightened Centurion guest rules on 8 July 2026 and removes select Lufthansa lounges from 1 October 2026; and the UK Business Platinum is now limited to limited companies and LLPs. Re-read the issuer's terms before ordering employee cards. Our airport lounge access wars piece follows the changes.
The six business cards in detail
1. Capital One Venture X Business: 89/100
$395 annual fee · $125 lounge pass per additional cardholder, up to four · two free Priority Pass guests per lounge-enabled card
The Venture X Business scores full marks on employee access (25) and cost for five (20): five people with their own access cost $895 a year, $179 each. Since 1 February 2026, additional cardholders can be given lounge access for $125 a year each, covering Capital One Lounges, Capital One Landings and Priority Pass, and each of them can bring two free Priority Pass guests, as reported by CNBC Select and NerdWallet. It loses points on reach (20), because Capital One's own lounges are few beside the Amex network, and on guests at those lounges, which cost $45 per adult unless the account spends $75,000 in a year. Use case: a five-person consultancy flying several airlines. See our Capital One travel cards review.
2. American Express Business Platinum (UK): 81/100
£650 annual fee · one free Platinum employee card, then £295 · 1,550+ lounges at 500+ airports
The UK card scores full marks on reach (25): American Express UK lists over 1,550 lounges at more than 500 airports, with unlimited access to American Express Lounges, Plaza Premium, Lufthansa, Delta Sky Club and Escape locations, plus Priority Pass. It is the only card here that gives one employee their own Platinum access for nothing; further Platinum employee cards cost £295. Its weak score is guests (8): the primary and each supplementary Platinum cardmember may bring one free Priority Pass guest, and further guests cost £24. Since January 2026 the card is open only to limited companies and LLPs, so sole traders cannot apply. See our best travel credit cards for the UK and Europe.
3. The Business Platinum Card from American Express (US): 73/100
$895 annual fee · $400 per Employee Business Platinum Card · Global Lounge Collection of 1,550+ lounges
The US Business Platinum has the widest network of any card here (25 on reach): Centurion Lounges, Priority Pass with two guests, 10 Delta Sky Club visits a year on Delta flights, Plaza Premium and Escape. The fee rose to $895 for new accounts from 18 September 2025, as Upgraded Points records. It scores 15 on employee access because each employee card with lounge access costs $400, and the $0 Employee Business Expense Card carries none, under the American Express lounge terms. Centurion guests cost $50 each unless the account spends $75,000 a year. Use case: an owner who flies weekly and wants Centurion Lounges in the major US hubs. See our American Express travel cards review.
4. Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business: 61/100
$795 annual fee · free employee cards with no lounge access · up to two free guests at Sapphire Lounges and Priority Pass
Chase's own page sets out the trade: complimentary access to the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club and more than 1,300 Priority Pass lounges with up to two guests, and employee cards at no extra cost, with the note that the Sapphire Lounge and Priority Pass benefits are not available to employee cardmembers, who may enter only as the primary cardmember's guests. That gives it the best guest score (15) and the worst employee score (5) in the ranking. It passes because one owner travelling with two colleagues gets the most generous free entry here. See our Chase travel cards review and Amex Platinum vs Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business: 56/100, assessed, not ranked
$650 annual fee · $175 per Employee Reserve Business Card · 15 Sky Club visits a year each, on Delta flights
The Delta card is the cheapest way to give staff their own lounge on one airline: each $175 Employee Reserve Business Card gets 15 Delta Sky Club visits a Medallion Year when flying Delta, as the American Express employee card page states. It misses the pass mark on reach (10) and restrictions (3): access depends on flying Delta, Centurion and Escape access requires a Delta flight booked with the card, and unlimited Sky Club visits need $75,000 of yearly spend, under the card terms. For a Delta-only team it is the practical choice; the score reflects how narrow that is.
United Club Business Card: 34/100, assessed, not ranked
$695 annual fee · United Club membership for the primary cardmember · employee cards get no membership
The fee rose from $450 to $695 in the 2025 refresh of Chase's United cards, as The Points Guy reported, and Star Alliance lounges now need All Access, unlocked by $50,000 of spend or Premier Gold status. The membership covers the primary cardholder with one guest and dependent children, per NerdWallet; employee cards earn four one-time passes only on an All Access account. It scores 5 on employee access and 8 on reach, and sits well below the pass mark for a business buying lounge access for staff.
Three rules for choosing a business card for lounge access
1 · Count the people, not the card. One traveller is best served by the card with the best guest rule, the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business. Three or more travellers change the answer: equipping five people costs $895 on Capital One and $2,495 on the US Business Platinum. See whether premium travel cards are worth it.
2 · Check the employee card type before ordering. On American Express, the $0 Expense Card and Gold employee cards carry no lounge access; only Platinum employee cards do. On Capital One, the $125 pass is a separate switch per cardholder.
3 · Match the network to the airports you use. Priority Pass appears on four of the six cards, so the difference is the issuer's own lounges and the airline clubs. Our Airport Lounge Programme Index compares the networks, and the best luxury travel credit cards covers the personal cards.
What changed for business card lounge access in 2026
Four dated changes reshaped this ranking. On 18 September 2025 the US Business Platinum fee rose to $895 for new accounts, with existing accounts moving at renewal from 2 December 2025 (Upgraded Points). On 1 February 2026 Capital One introduced a $125 lounge pass for additional cardholders on both Venture X cards; on the Business card, employee cards had no lounge access before, and primary cardholders kept two free Priority Pass guests (NerdWallet). From January 2026 the UK Business Platinum is open only to limited companies and LLPs (InsideFlyer). On 8 July 2026 American Express required Centurion guests to share the cardmember's flight and capped layover entry at five hours (InsideFlyer), and select Lufthansa lounges leave the Amex collection on 1 October 2026 (The Points Party).
