World of Hyatt Review 2026: Record Score of 63, Globalist First of Five Top Tiers

World of Hyatt's top tier, Globalist, is the only one of the five hotel top tiers on our elite benefits index to reach its pass mark, at 63 out of 100: breakfast and 48-hour room availability in writing, and suite upgrades confirmed at booking, in a programme Hyatt says had about 63 million members at the end of 2025. This record is the evidence file behind that score. It sets out what Hyatt publishes about the programme, what the Globalist page and Hyatt's filings say today, what could not be read, and where our own pages and Hyatt's figures disagree.

How World of Hyatt scores: 63 out of 100

World of Hyatt scores 63 out of 100 for Globalist, first of the five top tiers our elite benefits index assessed and the only one past its pass mark of 60: 25 of 30 for benefits in writing, 0 of 20 for carve-outs, 20 of 20 for confirmable upgrades, 15 of 15 for breakfast and 3 of 15 for a published remedy. The points are the hotel elite benefits index's of 24 September 2026, carried unchanged; under each component is what Hyatt's own pages showed on 26 September 2026. Two things could not be read again: the World of Hyatt terms page, where the index found the breakfast detail and the Suite Upgrade Award exclusions, rendered no text for our reader, and Hyatt's award chart pages returned errors.

Hyatt publishes Globalist's benefits in one table and prints the upgrade instrument the index found at neither Marriott's Titanium nor Hilton's Diamond: a suite confirmed when the stay is booked. It publishes less about what happens when a promise fails. The 48-hour guarantee carries no stated compensation, the terms that list excluded brands and hotels rendered no text for our reader, and the award chart, repriced in May 2026 into five levels per category, sits on pages that returned errors, so the pricing detail here comes from dated loyalty-site reporting.

The evidence record

The record holds 18 facts about World of Hyatt, each with its source and grade. Grade A means the company's own site or terms; grade B means a regulator, major press or an established loyalty site, dated on its page; grade C means a secondary source not confirmed elsewhere. Every line was read on 26 September 2026 unless its source says otherwise.

Who owns World of Hyatt?

World of Hyatt belongs to Hyatt Hotels Corporation, listed in New York as H and headquartered at 150 North Riverside Plaza in Chicago; Mark Hoplamazian is Hyatt's chairman, president and chief executive, and Laurie Blair leads its global marketing and loyalty.

Hyatt's 2025 annual report gives the address (map), the listing and the programme's size in the same document: about 63 million members at 31 December 2025, across 1,528 hotels and all-inclusive resorts, and names Thomas J. Pritzker as executive chairman; Hyatt's release of 9 September 2026 names Mark Hoplamazian as chairman, president and chief executive. No page we opened gives the year the programme began under its present name. Hyatt's luxury brand on our luxury hotel brand hierarchy, Park Hyatt, has its own record, which covers the hotels rather than the points.

How big is World of Hyatt?

About 63 million members and 1,528 hotels and all-inclusive resorts in 83 countries at the end of 2025, by Hyatt's own annual report, well short of Marriott's and Hilton's systems.

The annual report's 372,763 rooms cover every Hyatt brand, from Park Hyatt to the all-inclusive resorts. Our Hilton Diamond vs Marriott Titanium vs Hyatt Globalist comparison gives "~1,400 hotels", about 130 fewer, and names a "Joie de Vivre" brand that the report calls JdV by Hyatt. Marriott counted 9,805 properties at the end of 2025 (its 2025 Form 10-K) and Hilton 9,453 at 30 June 2026 (its second quarter results), so a Globalist has far fewer hotels to choose from than a Titanium or Diamond member.

How to reach Globalist

Globalist takes 60 nights or 100,000 base points in a calendar year; Hyatt names no credit card that grants it and no public status match, but linked Aeroplan Elite members can reach it in a 90-day, 20-night challenge.

The Aeroplan challenge, announced on 15 July 2026, gives linked Aeroplan Elite members Discoverist after 4 nights, Explorist after 10 and Globalist after 20. What Globalist guarantees in writing

Hyatt's Globalist page lists breakfast or club access, 48-hour guaranteed availability, a 30% points bonus and 4:00 PM late checkout, and suite upgrades confirmed at booking; it states no compensation if any of them fails.

The benefit table on the Globalist page reads 'Club Access or Breakfast', 'Guaranteed Availability' at 48 hours and '+30% Bonus', and gives Globalists a 4:00 PM late checkout under a heading marked 'as available at some locations'. Its Milestone Rewards list 2 Suite Upgrade Awards at 50 nights and 2 at 60, each 'confirmed at the time of booking, for a stay of up to 7 nights', with single awards offered as choices at later milestones. The index read two further details in the World of Hyatt terms, breakfast for up to two adults and two children and Suite Upgrade Award exclusions at eight brands and more than 70 hotels; that page rendered no text for our reader on 26 September 2026, so this record carries them as the index's reading, not its own.

Our two Hyatt pages give different counts for the upgrades: the four-programme comparison says "2 auto at 60 nights · up to 10/yr", the Globalist status match guide "4 confirmable SUAs at 60-night Milestone" and "up to 14" a year. Hyatt's Milestone Rewards page, which would settle it, returned an error.

How World of Hyatt points are priced, and what changed in 2026

From 20 May 2026 each Hyatt category has five prices, Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper and Top, and the highest rose to 75,000 points a night from 45,000, by loyalty-site reporting of 25 April 2026; Hyatt's own award chart pages returned errors to our reader.

The Milelion reported on 25 April 2026 that '136 hotels are changing categories worldwide: 112 hotels are moving to a higher category, 24 hotels are moving to a lower category', alongside the new chart. Our loyalty programme devaluation index dates the chart change to an announcement on 25 February and a launch on 20 May 2026, about 84 days of notice, and assesses World of Hyatt below its pass mark. The value our pages put on a Hyatt point, 1.65 cents on the comparison and about 1.8 cents on the Globalist guide, is our own estimate; Hyatt prints none.

Who World of Hyatt suits, and who it does not

Globalist suits a traveller who can spend 60 nights a year in Hyatt hotels, wants breakfast and a suite confirmed at booking, and travels where Hyatt has hotels; it suits less well anyone who needs a card or an open match to reach the top tier, or who stays where Hyatt has few hotels.

What changed at World of Hyatt, 2025 to 2026

Hyatt repriced its award chart in May 2026, added an Aeroplan partnership in July and, on 9 September 2026, ended its enhanced American Airlines relationship and announced one with Delta.
