The cheapest dollar-priced luxury trips that reach Angkor start at about $465 a person a day (Exotic Voyages, Kensington Tours) and rise to about $2,000 a day for Artisans of Leisure's private ten days at $20,045. Vietnam on its own starts lower: Kensington from $3,370 for 10 days, Audley from $3,565 for 9 days, Remote Lands from $3,800 for 7. When to go

No month is dry everywhere: the north is best from October to April, the centre from February to August, the south and Cambodia from November to April. October and November bring heavy rain to Hoi An and Hue while Hanoi is at its best, which is why a planner bends the route to the month. Red Savannah advises against Lan Ha Bay cruises from July to September, typhoon season. The UK Foreign Office's Vietnam travel advice (updated 21 September 2026) covers the storm season; its Cambodia advice warns against all but essential travel within 20 km of the Thai land border, well away from Siem Reap's temples.
