Which Flight Compensation Companies Are No Win No Fee With No Extra Legal Fee? Eleven Published Fee Schedules, Compared

By Richard Jasinski·Updated 15 October 2026

Three of the eleven flight compensation companies that publish their fees charge one fee whether or not your claim goes to court: Bott and Co (42% plus VAT, court fees paid by the firm), ClaimFlights (usually 25% plus VAT, costs borne by the company if a case fails) and EUclaim (31% including VAT plus €33 a passenger). The other eight are no win no fee too, but add a second charge when the airline refuses and the case goes to legal action: 15% of the award at AirHelp, Flight-Delayed and SkyRefund, a 14% solicitor's surcharge at Flightright, 10% at MYFLYRIGHT, a rise from 30% to 50% at AirAdvisor, and a higher flat fee at Skycop and Refundor. This page gives no score. Each company is shown with its own published figures, read on 14 October 2026, and the line that says who it is not the fit for comes only from limits the company itself publishes.

Who is on this page, and why

A company is on this page if its own website publishes its fee as a percentage or a flat amount, and its fee page or terms say whether a further fee applies when a claim goes to legal action. We read the fee and terms pages of 17 flight compensation companies on 14 October 2026. Eleven publish both facts and are below. Compensair, Click2Refund and ClaimCompass are left off because the pages we could open do not state a percentage; Colibra is left off because it sells delay protection rather than claims handling; Air Travel Rights and FlightFund could not be read. "No win no fee" is used by every company on the page; what differs is what happens in the minority of cases that reach a court.

How to read a card. "Not stated on their website" means we read the company's pages and the fact is not there. "Could not access" means we could not open the page that would hold it. Fees are the company's own figures from its fee page or terms, quoted with the VAT treatment the company states. Reviews are shown per platform and never added together; Google ratings were not read for this page. Nothing here is a recommendation.

Three companies with one fee, court or not

These three publish a single fee and say nothing about a second one when a case goes to legal action, or say outright that the company carries those costs. Alphabetical.

Bott and CoBott and Co Solicitors Ltd, England and Wales, SRA 605593

Base fee
"A simple flat fee of 42% of the compensation amount", excluding VAT. Its fee table shows £93 on a £220 award and £225 on £520 before VAT, a little above 42%; its terms of business put the charge with VAT at £112 and £270, so you keep £108 or £250.
Legal action fee
None. "We will pay for all court fees, and any costs relating to your claim." The firm issues court proceedings within 30 days as its standard route, so the one fee already assumes court.
Other charges
Not stated on their website.
If the claim fails
"Bott and Co charge nothing if your claim is unsuccessful."
Payment
Fee "automatically deducted from your compensation"; paid in pounds by bank transfer.
Reviews
Trustpilot: 4.7 from 2,881 reviews (bottonline.co.uk, read 14 Oct 2026). Google: Could not access.
Not the fit if
You are comparing headline percentages: 42% plus VAT is 50.4% of the award, the highest standard fee on this page, in exchange for a UK-regulated law firm that goes to court on every claim. It also says cases outside England and Wales "may not be handled in court".

ClaimFlightsClaim Flights GmbH, Bonn, Germany

Base fee
"Usually 25%" of the compensation, "plus 19% VAT for Germany, and other VAT rates for other countries", so 29.75% of the award for a German-VAT customer. The exact rate is shown on the site when you claim.
Legal action fee
None stated. If a court action fails, "Claim Flights GmbH accepts all costs incurred"; if it succeeds, the company bears any costs the airline does not pay.
Other charges
A flat €100 if a successful case is discontinued through the customer's fault. €20 for an optional immediate payment on a flight already claimed successfully once. A flat fee, amount not stated, for incorrect bank details.
If the claim fails
"If we do not win, we charge nothing. Period."
Payment
SEPA bank transfer at no cost for EU customers; euros.
Reviews
Trustpilot: 4.5 from 498 reviews (claimflights.com, read 14 Oct 2026). Google: Could not access.
Not the fit if
You want a current contract: the terms we read are "Version V2" dated 29 March 2015, disputes go to Bonn under German law, and the €100 charge applies if the case is dropped through your fault.

EUclaimYource B.V., Amsterdam, trading as EUclaim, Arnhem

Base fee
"A success fee of 31% (incl. VAT) plus €33 (incl. VAT) per person for administration costs." On €600 for one passenger that is €219, so you keep €381.
Legal action fee
None stated. The service page does not mention court or lawyer costs. It does say: "Has your case been transferred to Bott and Co? Their terms and conditions apply."
Other charges
The €33 administration fee is charged per passenger, so a family of four pays €132 on top of the percentage.
If the claim fails
"You pay us nothing if we are unsuccessful with your claim."
Payment
Bank account or PayPal, within 30 days of receiving your details once the airline has paid; euros.

Trustpilot: 2.4 from 574 reviews (euclaim.co.uk profile, read 14 Oct 2026). Google: Could not access.
Not the fit if
You want to know in advance which firm will act for you: EUclaim's own page says a case can be transferred to Bott and Co, whose 42% plus VAT then applies instead. The €33 a head also makes it the dearest option on this page for a short-haul family claim.

The fee rises to 50%: "If your case requires legal action with external lawyers, the fee is 50%." AirAdvisor pays the court fees.

Other charges
"AirHelp will not cover any additional fees or costs charged to you by your beneficiary bank." A $29.99 fee on goodwill claims. AirHelp+ members pay a yearly subscription instead of either fee.

"No Win, No Fee means we deduct a fee from what you win." No fee when no compensation is obtained.
Payment
EU261 claims are paid in euros; method not stated on the fee page.

What you keep from the award

On a standard claim that never reaches a court, the share you keep runs from about 70% at AirAdvisor, ClaimFlights and MYFLYRIGHT to 48% at Bott and Co, using each company's own example or percentage with VAT applied as the company states it. The order changes once a case goes to legal action: the three one-fee companies stay where they are, while AirHelp, Flight-Delayed and SkyRefund drop to 50%, AirAdvisor to 50%, and Flightright and MYFLYRIGHT by a further 14 and 10 points plus VAT. A legal action fee is charged in a minority of cases, "statistically 3%" by AirHelp's figure, so for most claims the standard column is the one that counts; for a claim against an airline that routinely refuses, the second column is.

Claiming for free: what the regulators say

Both the EU's Your Europe guidance and the UK Civil Aviation Authority say to claim from the airline first, with its own form, and nothing is deducted from a claim you make yourself. Under EU261 the compensation is €250 for flights of 1,500 km or less, €400 for longer flights inside the EU and for other flights of 1,500 to 3,500 km, and €600 over 3,500 km, for a cancellation, denied boarding or an arrival delay of three hours or more, unless extraordinary circumstances apply. If the airline does not reply within two months, Your Europe points you to the national enforcement body, an alternative dispute resolution scheme or the European small claims procedure. In the UK the bands are £220, £350 and £520; the CAA says to use the airline's claim form and keep a written record, and warns that "compensation is not automatic" and that some airlines will not deal with a complaint sent through a claims management company because their terms require you to claim directly first. The UK route is set out on which company is best for a UK261 claim, and the difference between the two regimes on EU261 vs UK261.

Three questions before you sign

1. Is VAT inside the percentage? Seven companies on this page say yes. Flightright, MYFLYRIGHT, ClaimFlights and Bott and Co add it, which turns 25% into 29.75% and 42% into 50.4%. Ask for the figure with VAT.

2. What happens if the airline says no? Three companies carry on at the same fee. Eight add between about 6 and 20 points of the award. If your airline is one that routinely refuses until proceedings are issued, the second fee is the one you will pay. What to do when an airline rejects your claim covers the steps you can take yourself first.

3. What does the company charge if you walk away, or if the airline pays you? Flight-Delayed, ClaimFlights, SkyRefund and MYFLYRIGHT all publish a charge for one of those cases. Read that clause before the fee percentage.

Claim once yourself before you sign. Every company on this page takes between a quarter and half of money that is yours by law. Claims companies versus claiming yourself shows where each is worth it, and which company pays out fastest compares the published payout promises.

Flight compensation fees: the questions people ask

Which flight compensation companies are no win no fee with no extra legal fee?

Of the eleven companies that publish their fees, three charge one fee whether or not the claim goes to court: Bott and Co (42% of the award plus VAT, and it pays all court fees), ClaimFlights (usually 25% plus VAT, and it bears the costs if a court case fails) and EUclaim (31% including VAT plus €33 a passenger, with no legal action fee stated). The other eight add something when a case goes to legal action: AirHelp, Flight-Delayed and SkyRefund add 15%, Flightright adds a 14% solicitor's surcharge, MYFLYRIGHT adds 10%, AirAdvisor's fee rises from 30% to 50%, and Skycop and Refundor move to a higher flat fee. All eleven say they charge nothing if the claim fails. Read on 14 October 2026.

What does no win no fee mean with a flight compensation company?

It means the company takes its fee out of the compensation it recovers and charges nothing if it recovers nothing. It does not mean the fee is the same in every case: eight of the eleven companies on this page charge a second fee when the airline refuses and the case goes to a lawyer or a court, and that fee is also taken from your award. Read each company's fee page, not its homepage, for the full figure.

Which flight compensation company has the lowest published fee?

On a standard claim with no court action, as published on 14 October 2026: Flightright usually 20 to 30% plus VAT, MYFLYRIGHT and ClaimFlights 25% plus VAT, AirAdvisor 30% including VAT, EUclaim 31% including VAT plus €33 a passenger, AirHelp, Flight-Delayed and SkyRefund 35% including VAT, Bott and Co 42% plus VAT, and Skycop and Refundor flat fees of €110, €176 or €264 by award band, which is 44%. The lowest percentage is not always the lowest charge once VAT and legal action fees are added.

Is VAT included in flight compensation fees?

It depends on the company, and the difference is a fifth of the fee. AirHelp, AirAdvisor, EUclaim, Flight-Delayed, SkyRefund, Skycop and Refundor state their fees with VAT included. Flightright, MYFLYRIGHT, ClaimFlights and Bott and Co state fees that exclude VAT, so 25% plus German VAT at 19% is 29.75% of the award, and Bott and Co's 42% plus UK VAT at 20% is 50.4%.

How much do I keep from a €600 or £520 claim after fees?

Using each company's own published example: AirHelp €390 from €600 without legal action, €300 with it. MYFLYRIGHT €421.50 from €600. Flight-Delayed £338 from £520, or £260 with legal action. Bott and Co about £295 from £520 before VAT on its fee, about £250 after. Skycop and Refundor €336 from €600, or €300 with court proceedings. EUclaim €381 from €600 for one passenger. AirAdvisor €420 from €600, or €300 if external lawyers are used.

What is a legal action fee?

A second fee some companies add when the airline refuses to pay and the company takes the claim to a court or instructs a lawyer. AirHelp says it happens in about 3% of its cases. AirHelp, Flight-Delayed and SkyRefund charge 15% of the award for it, Flightright 14% plus VAT, MYFLYRIGHT 10% plus VAT, and AirAdvisor raises its whole fee to 50%. It is charged only if the case is won, so the company still calls itself no win no fee.

Do any companies charge if I cancel or if the airline pays me directly?

Yes. Flight-Delayed charges its full 35% if you cancel after 14 days once work has started, and 50% if you cancel during the legal phase. ClaimFlights charges a flat €100 if a case is dropped through the customer's fault. SkyRefund requires you to report a direct payment from the airline and pay its fee within three working days. MYFLYRIGHT reserves the right to charge if you also use a competitor. These are each company's own terms, read 14 October 2026.

Can I claim flight compensation for free without a company?

Yes. The EU's Your Europe guidance and the UK Civil Aviation Authority both say to claim from the airline first, using its own form, and only then to escalate: in the EU to the national enforcement body, an alternative dispute resolution scheme or the European small claims procedure; in the UK to the airline's approved dispute scheme or the CAA, which are free, or to the small claims court. The compensation is €250, €400 or €600 in the EU and £220, £350 or £520 in the UK, and none of it is deducted when you claim yourself.

Which companies were left off this page, and why?

Compensair, Click2Refund and ClaimCompass, because their own websites do not publish a fee percentage on the pages read on 14 October 2026, and Colibra, which sells delay protection rather than claims handling. A company that publishes its fee and states whether a legal action fee applies is on the page; nothing else decides it. There are no affiliate links and no paid placements.

This page gives no score and no ranking; within each group companies are listed alphabetically. A company is included if its own website publishes its fee and states whether a legal action fee applies. There are no affiliate links and no paid placements on this page, and no company has paid to appear or to be shown differently.
