Mostly safari companies’ own websites and the publications that compare them. On 31 October 2026 ChatGPT cited 94 different websites in its answers to 40 safari questions. Companies’ own sites took 38% of the citations; publications, guides and blogs took 25%; Uncompromised Travel, the publisher of this page, took 18%; review and awards sites took 10%. This page shows the count by kind of website and how it was made. Websites are grouped by kind. No other site is named, since what matters to a safari company is which kind of page it needs to be on.
Companies’ own websites (38% of citations) and publications, guides and blogs (25%), then Uncompromised Travel (18%) and review and awards sites (10%). On 31 October 2026 ChatGPT gave 80 answers to 40 safari questions and cited 263 sources in them, from 94 different websites: about three sites an answer.

Often: companies’ own websites were 101 of the 263 citations on 31 October 2026, spread across 55 company sites. A company’s own site is where ChatGPT reads what the company says about itself: where it goes, who its trips suit, what they cost. Which of its pages ChatGPT reads is set out in what ChatGPT reads on your own website.
Spread across 55 sites, those 101 citations come to about two each. A question that asks who to book is answered by setting companies side by side, so the pages that compare companies carry much of the answer.
On 31 October 2026 it was Uncompromised Travel, the publisher of this page: cited on 32 of the 40 safari questions and 48 times in all. No other website was cited on more of the 40 that day, or more often. That is the publisher’s own count, so it has an interest in it. The same 40 questions are counted every day on the ChatGPT scoreboard, so any day can be checked against this one.
The figure says which pages ChatGPT reads when buyers ask about safari companies. It does not say what ChatGPT will recommend, which ChatGPT decides for itself.
From 80 ChatGPT answers: the 40 core safari questions Uncompromised Travel asks every day, each asked twice on 31 October 2026, logged out, from the US. A website counts as cited when it is on one of ChatGPT’s citation chips or behind a chip’s “+N”. A link written into the answer text, or a result that is only listed, does not count. Each website counts once per answer.
Every website was sorted into one kind. A company Uncompromised Travel tracks is sorted by its name list. A well-known site is sorted by the list of site groups its daily count already uses. The rest were opened and read by hand on 1 November 2026 and sorted by their main purpose: a safari company with a blog is still a company. The count is made by a script from the stored answers, so it can be run again on any day. These figures are re-counted on the day this page is updated.
Be clear on your own site and be on the independent pages that compare companies, because ChatGPT reads both. On your own site, state the facts buyers ask about: where you operate, who your trips suit, a dated price and your licence. On the comparison pages, your company appears where its published facts fit the question. No one can buy a citation from ChatGPT. What a company can do is make sure the pages ChatGPT reads carry its facts, as set out in can a travel company pay to appear in ChatGPT’s answers.
Two ways. Free, wherever its published facts fit the question a page answers. Or paid, as an article on a question it wants to own, with the company first and labelled Partner. The free way is open to every company: point to the facts on your own site. The paid way is explained on how a position works.

This page is written for travel companies, not for travellers. It is published by Uncompromised Travel, which is one of the websites it counts and sells positions on its own pages, so it has an interest in what this page says. The figures are Uncompromised Travel’s own: the 40 core safari questions, each asked to ChatGPT twice on 31 October 2026, logged out, from the US; a website counted once per answer when it is on a citation chip or behind its “+N”; every website sorted into one kind: by name for tracked companies, by the daily count’s site groups for well-known sites and by hand for the rest on 1 November 2026. No other website is named. No visitor or traffic figures are given anywhere on this site. How this site earns · How we work.
