Why Bosnia, Why Now

A country still worth discovering properly

  • A resident host, not a tour guide. Belma designs and leads every journey personally — trilingual, Bosnian by birth, with access that only comes from living here.
  • Private throughout. Your own driver and vehicle, your own reservations, your own pace. You never share a journey with strangers.
  • The real Herzegovina. Ottoman Mostar and Blagaj, the stone town of Počitelj, the Kravice waterfalls, Trebinje's monastery cellars — without the coach-tour crush.
  • Wild country, on request. Europe's deepest canyon on the Tara, the primeval forest of Perućica, the wild horses of Livno, fly-fishing the Una.
  • One honest, all-inclusive price. One clear price per person covering everything on the ground. No nickel-and-diming, no surprises on arrival.

Best Good Quiet / Winter

Late spring and early autumn bring warm days, full rivers and quiet sites — the sweet spot for the classic itineraries. Summer is hot and lively; winter opens the 1984 Olympic mountains for skiing, heli-touring and a snow-bound version of the country entirely.

A Day With Us

What your days can look like

No two journeys are the same, but the rhythm is. This is the shape of an unhurried day in Herzegovina — yours to lean into or slow right down.

Morning

Wake somewhere beautiful

Coffee on a terrace over the Neretva, then out before the crowds — the old bridge at Mostar or the cliffside dervish house at Blagaj, with the light still soft and the streets still quiet.

Midday

Into the country

A drive through karst and vineyard to a long lunch you didn't have to find — a family konoba, a riverside table, the kind of place Belma knows and you never would.

Afternoon

Something only here

A swim beneath the Kravice falls, a monastery cellar tasting, a fortress town to yourselves — whatever the day and your mood ask for, arranged so it simply happens.

Evening

Unwind, your way

Back to your stay as the cliffs turn gold, dinner reserved, the next day already taken care of. Nothing to plan, nothing to chase.

Make It Yours

Choose what calls to you

These aren't extras on a bill — they're the moments we'll weave into your journey if they speak to you. Tell us which ones do, and they become part of the plan.

Kravice Falls, Herzegovina

Swim beneath the Kravice falls

A private morning at Herzegovina's great waterfall before the day-trippers arrive — turquoise pools, a quiet picnic, the falls all but to yourselves.

Skakavac Falls, Sutjeska

Walk the primeval forest

Into Perućica, one of the last untouched forests in Europe — ancient beech and the 70-metre Skakavac falls, with a guide who knows every trail.

Trebinje, Herzegovina

Taste at monastery cellars

A private tasting of indigenous Žilavka and Blatina in Trebinje's Tvrdoš Monastery and the Vukoje cellars — hosted past the doors most never reach.

Blagaj, the Buna spring

Fly-fish the Una

A day on one of Europe's clearest rivers with a local ghillie — grayling and trout in emerald water, as serious or as gentle as you'd like it.

The emerald Pliva river

Raft the Tara canyon

Run the deepest river canyon in Europe with a private guide and a riverside lunch — spirited white water or a slow drift, however the day feels.

Old Mostar, Herzegovina

Arrive by helicopter or jet

Trade the roads for the view from above, or skip the connection entirely — a scenic heli hop over the karst, or a private jet straight to your gateway.

And more besides: the wild horses of Livno, Lukomir's highland village, the Vjetrenica cave, a private photographer, winter skiing on the 1984 Olympic peaks. See everything that's possible →

Your Host

Belma

Resident Host · Mostar

Born in northern Bosnia, Belma's family left during the war when she was a child and built a new life in Montreal — where she spent years across banking and hospitality and raised two children. Montreal was a good life, and a long one. But the pull of home never quite let go, and in 2021 her heart finally won: she came back to Bosnia, settled in Mostar, and never looked back.

She is trilingual in Bosnian, English and French — which opens doors most visitors never see and makes her a rare host for Francophone travellers. The result is an insider's roots paired with a returnee's clear eyes, and a banker's precision applied to every detail of a journey.

"Bosnian by birth, Canadian by chapter, home again by choice."

Why Travel With Us

The honest luxury difference

We Actually Run It

Bosnia is the one journey on this site we own and operate. You deal with the people who design and lead it — no broker in the middle.

Truly Private

Every departure is yours alone. Your party, your host, your pace — never a fixed group, never a shared coach.

Real Access

A resident host opens cellars, tables and homes that no itinerary bought online can ever reach.

No Pretence

Bosnia isn't a polished five-star machine. We tell you exactly what it is — and exactly why that's the point.

Good To Know

Common questions

Is Bosnia & Herzegovina a luxury destination?+

Not in the polished, five-star resort sense — and that is the point. Bosnia offers world-class natural beauty, deep history and genuine hospitality without the manufactured gloss of established luxury circuits. Our journeys layer the best available stays, private access and a resident host on top of a country that still feels undiscovered.

Who runs these journeys?+

Every journey is designed and led on the ground by Belma, a resident host based in Mostar. Bosnian by birth and trilingual in Bosnian, English and French, she shapes each itinerary personally and accompanies guests throughout.

What is included in the price?+

Genuinely everything on the ground is included: all accommodation, every meal, all wine, drinks and coffee, your private driver and vehicle, your resident host throughout, all tastings, private access, entries and in-country logistics. The only things outside the price are your international flights and optional add-ons such as a helicopter or private jet transfer.

How many people travel on each journey?+

Journeys are designed as private departures for two guests as standard, with additional guests added on request. You travel only with your own party and your host — never in a group with strangers.

When is the best time to visit Bosnia & Herzegovina?+

Late spring (May–June) and early autumn (September–October) are ideal, with warm days, full rivers and quiet sites. July and August are hot and busier; winter opens the 1984 Olympic mountains for skiing, heli-touring and a different, snow-bound itinerary.

How do I book?+

Send an enquiry with your preferred journey, dates and party size. We respond personally with a tailored proposal and quote. A deposit of 30–50% secures your dates, with the balance due before travel.
